Lovers Rock
by Sade

Lovers Rock is the sixth album by the English group Sade. It was released in 2000 through Epic Records. Lovers Rock reached #18 on the UK Top 40 and #3 on The Billboard 200. On 27 February 2002 Sade won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
Lovers Rock is one of Sade's most perfected albums. Her vocals are round and warm as usual, the production is clean, precise, well balanced and full of feel and emotions. Superb engineering work was done on the recording. One pretty song melts into the next; the result is an undifferentiated dreaminess. Sade has produced an album of class, sophistication and melancholy soul.
From an instrumental perspective, Lovers Rock leans a bit more to the electronic side, but technology doesn't dampen the atmosphere and simple beauty of the music. Not surprisingly, the focus continues to be the sweet, often mournful melodies of a unique soul vocalist.
Most tracks are written by herself and the ever present Stuart Matthewman (Guitar and Woodwinds). With Andrew Hale (Keyboards) and Paul Denman (Bass) the signature sound lives on from the days of 'Diamond Life' and 'Promise'. Matthewman's influence is un-mistakeable however, his sexy saxophone playing seems to have taken a sabbatical on this particular album.

If this review flicks your switch, you should listen this album. For the first-time-listener, it is the perfect start to take a ride of retrospect and discover why you never heard any of her earlier material.

Artist: Korn
Album: Untitled

"Untitled" is the 8th album of one of the most recogniazable metal band. A lot of melodic sound distinguish "Untitled" from previous albums.
I would like to present a few tracks which I think deserve to be mention.
The album is started by "Intro" which associate with circus melody which is good prelude to go on. The next song is "Starting Over", where the artist says about his disease which could even kill him.
"Bith we got a problem" is quite a quick track with some pop elements, but it is nice. One of the best track , in my opinion, is "Evolution". It stands out speed and powerful Davis's vocals. The song narrate about human's way of life for centuries. We can come to conclusion that people are going to deevolution instead try to develop. Other track which deserve a mention is the beautyfull ballad "Kiss:, where Davis shows that he has pretty voice;)
"Untitled" is propably the most smooth album in whole Korn's carrer. I must admit that it is not as good as previous albums, but for sure I can recomend it for every Korn listener. So if you don't have "Untitled" yet drive on down to the record shop and buy it now.

"Systematic Chaos" is the ninth studio album of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. The album begins with the first part of a twenty five long epic "In The Present Of Enemies". "Systematic Chaos" shows us a lot of emotions. There is an unstoppable dialogue between keyboards guitars which becomes more and more agressive. The tempo and metre are changing a lot.
My favourite song from this album is "Forsaken".It is a soft ballad track.Vocal of James LaBrie is incredible.
Next two songs "Constant Motion" and "The Dark Eternal Night" are heavy tracks which are completly different from previous ones."Repentance" is my less favourite song.It has sad and overwhelming atmosphere.
I strongly recommend this album.Maybe it is not a masterpiece but it is really good. :)

I heard my favourite song not very long time ago, during a one blues concert played by my friends. It is “Little wing” written by Jimy Hendrix. He first recorded the song on the 1967album “Bold as Love”, in that time Jimy was in his 20s. A hero of the song is probably his mother, who was full of freshness and girl's charm. She gave solace to her son whose life was full of troubles and drugs.

He sings the songs in a very simple and natural way. It seems as he cries through his guitar. It is amazing. He has soft voice, full of humility and warmth. It is hard to find appropriate words, which could describe my impression of the masterpiece. My review is maybe too short, but the song is short as well. It is lovely and fair as “fairly tales” which the modest woman gives the musician if only he is sad.

Artist: Nelly Furtado
Album: Loose

After her debut song Like a bird in 2000, this year Nelly Furtados' new album Loose comes out. Nelly is no more sweet and innocent girl. She is an independent woman, who knows what she wants. It's one of the most popular producers, Timbaland, who helped Nelly to produce this album.
In the opening song Afraid, you can hear Nellys' vocal possibilities and a bit of new kind of music that Nelly fans are not used to. Maneater, which appears after Afraid, is a good song for party, because you can easly dance to it. The centrepiece of the album is definitely summer hit in Poland, Promiscious . In this song we can notice that Furtado sounds more comfortable in her new incarnation. Her energy pulsates. The next marvelous song is Glow - deep boogie, with Furtado purring along to a croaky riff. In No Hay Igual Furtado reveals her Latino roots with a lot of selfconfidence - she sings in one of Latino languages and music also comes from South America, what makes this song very interesting. Other tracks which deserves a mention are Say it right, All the good things, Do it and the poignant track Loose.
Loose shows us entirely new Nelly Furtado. She is no longer sweet girl that everyone loved. She became a mature woman and you can hear it in Loose. I definitely recommend this album.

Genesis @ Silesian Stadium (Chorzow)

The only concert of the Genesis group in Poland was an very expected event. It took place on 21st June 2007. The legendary progressive rock group reunited itself for the "Turn It On Again" tour nearly 40 years after the band first formed. The possibility to see the live show of Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford was impossible to ignore not only for fans of Genesis, but also for fans of unmistakable Collins' voice.
In the morning of that day, everything seemed to be excellent. But the situation become worse in the afternoon, with first small rain. The minutes passed, it become worse and worse - the stadium's gates were opened with delay of more than an hour - at 6 p.m. It did not stop raining. Everybody was afraid that the concert would be cancelled due to bad weather conditions. Finally, with a small delay of 15 minutes, at 9 p.m. Phil Collins appeared on the stage, which was breathtaking. On both sides there were "small" colour screens and behind the stage there was the biggest screen on which various animations, films, photos connected with song played were displayed.
The show opened with Phil's commentary on storm and rain - "All I have to say is fuckin' deszcz!". After few seconds they started to play "Turn it on again", which is one of the most famous Genesis' songs. Then, the weather was not important any more. The audience recognised next songs even after few sounds, and began to sing with artists. Later on, they played other hits, such as "Mama", "Land of Confusion", "No son of mine" and "Firth Of Fifth". During "Follow You, Follow Me" on the screen was displayed the record of the same song from 30 years ago, which was an interesting visualisation. Collins, Rutherford (keyboard) and Banks (guitar) ended with poignant final track "I can't dance", whose sounds I hear until now.
The concert of Genesis band in Poland was an important event in my life. The event, which I will always remember. The rain, storm and thunders were only adding more special effects to the show. I am sure that nobody will regret going to that event, even if he got all wet.
